La provincia de Almería es considerada joya natural del Viejo Continente,
la capital europea de la biodiversidad, debido a su situación geográfica y
climática, así como a su diversidad y riqueza biológica. Hablamos de una
tierra de contrastes que, entre el mar Mediterráneo, con sus más de 200
kilómetros de costa, y las cumbres de Sierra Nevada o entre el desierto de
Tabernas y los bosques de montaña de Sierra María, presenta uno de los
espacios naturales más singulares de la Península Ibérica.
Todo ello unido a sus infraestructuras turísticas, sus diversos puertos

The province of Almería is a natural gem and a European hub of biodiver-
sity, boasting a unique geographic location and climate, and a rich biologi-
cal heritage. This is a land of contrasts, ranging from the Mediterranean
Sea (Almería has over 200 km of coastline) to the Sierra Nevada moun-
tains, from the desert of Tabernas to the mountain forests of Sierra María.
