El legado histórico de las diferentes culturas que pasaron por esta tierra
andaluza ha conformado, a lo largo de siglos, un incomparable patrimonio
cultural, monumental y artístico que aún podemos admirar en sus calles
y en sus museos. Sevilla tiene, sin duda, una historia rica y fascinante.
Tartessos, fenicios y cartagineses establecieron en ella sus asentamien-
tos alrededor del gran río Guadalquivir. Entre las ciudades romanas de
Hispania encontramos el Municipium y Colonia Aelia Augusta Italicensium,
Itálica-Santiponce.
Pero fue la civilización musulmana la que tuvo una mayor influencia sobre
la ciudad. Algunos de los principales monumentos de la ciudad pertene-
cen a esta época. Más tarde el arte Mudéjar también dejó su huella con
bellos edificios. Sevilla, es la única ciudad española de interior con puerto
de primera categoría, tanto para cruceros de placer, como para líneas
regulares de mercancías.
Pero Sevilla es también conocida y admirada por sus pueblos blancos,
de cultura y encanto sureño, que hacen de ella una provincia hermosa
y fascinante, que ofrece en su camino suficientes alicientes como para
perderse, por su historia, arte, naturaleza, fiestas y tradiciones,... Hacer
una inmersión en alguno de los más de 20 espacios protegidos que exis-
ten en la provincia, es también una opción inmejorable para los amantes
de la naturaleza.

ent cultures that have lived in it has left a unique cultural, monumental
and artistic heritage that we can still admire in its streets and museums.
Seville does, without a doubt, have a rich and fascinating History. Tartes-
sians, Phoenicians and Carthaginians all established the first settlements
here, around the mighty Guadalquivir river. And in the present-day town
of Santiponce we find Itálica, one of the most important Roman towns
in Hispania, first known as Municipium Italica and then as Colonia Aelia
Augusta Italicensium.
But it was the Muslim civilisations that had the biggest influence on the
city. Some of the most well-known monuments date back to this era. Later
on in History, Mudéjar art also left its mark in the form of beautiful build-
ings. Seville is the only city in Spain that has a first-class river port, capa-
ble of serving cruise ships and regular merchant lines alike.
Seville is also well known and admired for its white villages, brimming
with culture and Southern charm. A beautiful and fascinating province, it
offers visitors plenty of opportunities to wander around, to immerse them-
selves in its History, its art, its nature, its festivals and traditions... And
nature lovers will find no end of enjoyment in the more than 20 protected
natural spaces in the province.
