88 Hope is God’s word and, as a result, Satan hates the meaning, because it destroys feelings of depression and replaces them with hope that God will grant the way to recovery. Never stop hoping, because some of the things we hope and pray for can take a long time to be realised. In the meantime, keep praying until God replies to your request. Never ever let Satan convince you that there is no hope. If and when that happens, during a weak time in your life, just pray in a raised voice. You can rest assured that God will hear your request, and grant it if He feels it is helpful for you. Never hope and pray that you wish to be rich and famous. God will not listen to or approve these kinds of requests, so be aware, and do not waste your time on them. These requests are Satan’s false promises that cause turmoil during a lifetime, and Hell during eternal life. I hope that you keep on hoping that God will guide and protect you and your family during your lifetime, and your legacy of hoping within your family will go on forever. Never pray and hope for material wealth. I must confess that, every time I buy lottery tickets, I promise God that, if I win, I will give it all to charity. It happened once in 1968 - I won $700, and my wife, Helen, and I decided to give it all to an eight year old blind boy to put towards equipment to help him study. I feel that I have been the most blessed man in the world. I have experienced all the good things in life, and I am fortunate to have the strength to refuse to be involved in any evil temptations. When I was at a tender age, due to the ending of the Second World War, I experienced hardships of all kinds. I came to Australia in 1948, and took advantage of the opportunities available. I worked very hard during my working life, but never prayed for financial success.
