44 It is a mystery why so many people from faithful or financially comfortable families end up in prison for misbehaviour. It is a wellknown fact that we need to choose wisely the company with whom we mix. If those we choose as friends have doubtful credibility, turn away from them, and find other friends who are law-abiding and careful. Who is the most important person in the world? The answer is noone, regardless of power, wealth or genius. Only God is the most powerful! Human bodies are made out of dust, and “to dust they will return”. Our spirit will leave the world, and will go to our eternal destination, where our behaviour during our life on earth will be examined. Anyone who thinks that they are most important to the world are wrong. Life can end in a split second at any time, and there will always be someone else to suitably replace them. During life, it is important that you feel that you are contributing and, in some way, valuable, playing some kind of role where people depend on you. As you reach a mature age, naturally you become less important, and you start to feel that your ‘use by’ date has expired. Do not let this happen; pray that God will provide you with a new challenge. Your body and mind must continue to be active, regardless of your age. You still need to feel that you are valuable, and whatever your contribution is of benefit to your family and the community. Do not worry about age, it is only a number, and remember that it is God’s gift and a privilege to reach a mature age. God created the world and humanity, plus all we need to live, hands to work, and minds to help us think about life. Since then, the invention of machinery and technology has changed human attitudes. Many humans expect to live very well, but without too much work. As a result, the world is experiencing a problem in the economy, and at present there seems no light at the end of the tunnel. Too many people world-wide feel that the world owes them a living! I believe that it is the wrong philosophy. It should be that we owe the world for the privilege of living in what God created for us, and we should all be happy to work for our living, and help to maintain God’s creation.
