87 My next hope was to be self-employed so, at the age of twenty, I started my own business, retailing fruit and vegetables. My third hope was to meet a girl, which I eventually did. We were both in love so, at the age of twenty-nine, I married my best employee. My fourth hope was to have a united family as a role model. We now have four children, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. I continually hope and pray that all my family are God’s Disciples and spread the Good News. My fifth hope was a prayer that God would help me to get involved in community service. The result is that my wife and I became actively involved in 1968, and we both wish to continue this service until the end of our time on earth. It is no use hoping that one day you will land on the Sun because, for sure, it is impossible. Everything you hope for must be realistic and, that way, you will be happy while you are hoping. Hope and believing in God is a huge help towards a healthy life. Every morning when we wake up, we are hoping it will be a safe day for us and our families. When we go to bed at night, we pray and hope that we have a good night’s sleep, and wake up feeling well the next morning. During our life, we pray and hope that God will protect us and our families from all evil temptations and hope that, while we are driving on the road, we will reach our destination safe and well. We hope and pray that God will grant us and our families health and happiness, and guide us with the decisions we make, that they are in accordance with God’s Doctrines. Since we are God’s Disciples, it is our duty to spread the word of Hope. It is most important, especially to people who feel that there is no hope for them. Unfortunately, there are so many who are confused with life, and cannot see any ‘light at the end of the tunnel‘. Hope is one of the most used words during conversations but, most of the time, we do not realise the meaning. From now on, let us appreciate it and, when we say I hope, feel hopeful in our heart that whatever we are hoping for will become a reality.
