58 Unfortunately, after a few years, he was found dead, leaving a young wife and two children. Let us all take heed that evil people are people to avoid, although we need to let them know that, by example, being a follower of evil is a sin against God’s wishes. Be very careful how you approach evil people, as you do not know how they will react. If you want to help the needy, God will always show you the way. Many years ago, Somalia made world-wide headline news. People were dying of hunger. Since I am an emotional person by nature, during the Television News on Somalia, I closed my eyes and blocked my ears until, one night, an inner voice ‘spoke’ to me, saying that I was selfish in doing that, as it would help no-one. Next morning, at the market, I asked a friend with a huge moustache if I could have it to auction it to raise funds for the Somalian people. I was pleasantly surprised when he said “yes, with pleasure“. That encouraged me to go and ask another friend with a big, thick beard, who had never shaved in his life. He said that he would do anything to help people dying from starvation. The next person I approached was the produce buyer for a Supermarket Chain. He was very proud of his moustache. When I asked him if I could have it, he replied “no way, unless you pay $5,000”. I told his boss, who said he would raise the money by getting sponsors. Next day, I received a call from a friend of mine (Arnesto Campagna), congratulating me on my project, and he asked me “what will you shave”. I replied with a negative response, because I have no beard or moustache. His response was “Pat, you have hair on your head; I will start the auction with $1,000”. Naturally, I said yes, so I named the project “Mo for Somalia”. I auctioned my hair last, and raised over $4,000. The total money raised was over $30,000. On another occasion, a disaster happened in one of the Asian countries. At that time, I had house blocks for sale so, together with the family, decided to sell one block and donate the money to the fund-raising appeal.
