Shorecrest Alumni
Distinguished
Achievement Award

obert H. Willis, Jr. '77 was honored with the first Shorecrest Alumni Disting-
uished Achievement Award. Bob accepted the award in front of a crowd of
fellow alumni in the Janet Root Theatre on November 24.
Receiving several nominations, Bob Willis was described as "a person who exem-
plifies all of the ideals that Shorecrest tries to instill in its students." Bob is a part-
ner at Skelton, Willis, Bennett & Wallace, LLP in St. Petersburg, FL, has served on
numerous corporate boards of directors and is actively involved in the community
as both volunteer and trustee for various nonprofit organizations.
This was the inaugural year for the Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award,
which pays tribute to notable alumni who have used their Shorecrest experi-
ence to bring excellence to their professional achievements, provide inspira-
tional leadership to others, and develop exceptional qualities. The inaugural
Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award was presented as part of Shorecrest's
90th Anniversary Kick-Off.

Criteria for the Distinguished
Alumni Achievement award
are as follows:
· Significant contribution to
society as evidenced by
leadership in and service
to the community and/or
Shorecrest Preparatory
School, displayed through
outstanding contributions
in one or more areas of
society, including but not
limited to, professional,
academic, athletic,
artistic, social, or personal
achievements.
· Above all, the nominee
shall serve as a role model
for current and future
students of Shorecrest
· For an alumnus to
be eligible for the
Distinguished Alumni
Award, he or she must
have attended Shorecrest
for a minimum of four
years, and at least fifteen
years shall have elapsed
since graduation. A
candidate may be
nominated posthumously.
