Susannah Crotts Earns Gold Award in Girl Scouts
Sophomore Susannah Crotts earned the ultimate honor as a Girl Scout,
the Gold Award. To reach this achievement, girls are challenged to
"change the world--or at least a corner of it" through an extensive
seven-step process. Susannah's project focused on raising awareness
to the dangers of sun and the importance of a healthy lifestyle and
entailed over 80 hours of work which she completed in less than 10
months. She organized the race, "Stop Crying, Start Running, Cure
Cancer" that was attended by over 300 people. Participants were
asked to donate a bottle of sunscreen, and the collection was
donated to the St. Petersburg Salvation Army.
