T
he Class of 2012 reflected on their school experi-
ences during Baccalaureate. The first two of the thir-
teen student speakers were Student Council Co-
Presidents Jamaura Arnold and Nick Nunnelly, who wel-
comed guests to the ceremony. Speakers Andrew Hebert,
Patrice Perkins, Annie Cobb, Steven Tellios, Isabella
Menna, Alex Drexler, Daniel Allweiss, Adham Suliman,
and Hannah Weinman all shared memories.
Science teacher Tony Napodano was chosen as the facul-
ty speaker. Mr. Napodano delivered a humorous speech
filled with his memories of the students in the class and the
importance of staying in touch with each other.
"You are leaving an institution that will never leave you.
You are about to become, and will always be, Shorecrest
alum...I hope you all don't fade from each other's memo-
ry. You have tools we never dreamed of when I graduated.
Twitter, Facebook, Flicker-type sites...I think it's fantastic
how recent alums have stayed in touch through word and
picture like they were all still living here in St. Pete. Keep
this community as whole and vibrant as you can. `Like'
each other often."
The program ended with National Honor Society Co-
Presidents Madeleine Murphy and Luke Nunnelly, sharing
their appreciation of their high school years. "Tomorrow is
our commencement, not so much an end as a fresh start.
We'll take our first steps forward, onward and upward,
toward renewed enrollments home and abroad. But we
must have firm footing before such a leap, and we cannot
appreciate what our futures hold without recognizing how
far we've come...my thanks can't be overstated for the
matchless faculty here at Shorecrest. Both in and out of
classrooms, they have taught me more than facts, dates,
and methods. They have shown me how to learn and how
to think, refining skills that will undeniably become useful
in all of our future endeavors."
