hen you walk onto our campus, you can't help but feel
a high level of energy. This is created by the many
members of our community who work tirelessly to provide
exceptional experiences for our students, including the
Shorecrest trustees. Currently we are working on a number of
initiatives key to the ongoing success of our school.
One of the most exciting projects underway is the develop-
ment of the school's Master Facilities Plan. The first phase is completed and result-
ed in a refined vision of our campus that incorporates elements of the strategic plan
and 21st Century educational techniques. During the next phase, we will create a
design that supports this vision. You will have the opportunity to provide input
through surveys and focus groups over the next few months. The final plan will be
presented later this year.
Trustees also are focused on boosting the enrollment in the Early Childhood Program.
A special task force completed an analysis that compared our preschool program to
that of our competition. The work confirmed that the quality of our curriculum and
faculty is unmatched by other schools in the area. Therefore, the Board directed the
Administration to develop a formal marketing plan that will differentiate Shorecrest's
Early Childhood Program from our competitors. To enhance the marketing efforts, a
tuition model will be created to promote enrollment in the Alpha and Junior
Kindergarten classes.
The Annual Giving campaign receives Board support every year because it ensures
Shorecrest is able to fulfill its mission. This year's goal is $700,000. Progress to date
is on track thanks to the efforts of a committed group of volunteers and strong lead-
ership from the Advancement Office. As always, the key to success is participation.
One hundred percent of trustees and faculty have made a gift to the campaign, and
we invite everyone to join us.
The hallmark of a great school is the involvement and support of the entire com-
munity. We are fortunate to have many who share their time and talents by serv-
ing on committees and task forces that shape the quality of the education
Shorecrest delivers. The Board of Trustees thanks you for your commitment to our
school and to our children.
