I have attended Shorecrest since my freshman
year. Prior to that time, I attended a public
middle school located in southern Saint
Petersburg. While the transition to a college
preparatory curriculum presented many chal-
lenges, I am confident that Shorecrest has
been the best place for me. During my high
school career, I was fortunate to play on
Shorecrest's varsity football, track & field, and
soccer teams. Of these sports, participating in
the varsity football program has provided the
best memories. The football team formed a
strong bond over the course of the 2012 sea-
son when we went on to become Bay
Conference champions with a 7-3 record. I am proud of our accomplishments
and all the hard work performed by my coaches and teammates.
In addition to athletics, I have participated in the arts. As a result of my attend-
ing Shorecrest's digital imaging course, I became very interested in this field
and have gone on to become a published illustrator, mural designer, award win-
ning artist, and one of two students to ever take AP 2-D studio art during my
junior year. I have also designed countless T-shirt designs over the years for var-
ious Shorecrest organizations. Most recently, I initiated the Shorecrest Digital
Media Club and while participation was sparse, many other clubs were provid-
ed with designs created by members of the club. I hope that this club will pro-
vide a foundation for growth in the future.
Next fall, I will be attending Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire
where I plan to study both economics and the computer sciences. Thanks to
the assistance of the Shorecrest coaching staff, I also plan to play football for
Dartmouth in the prestigious Ivy League.

As I move on from Shorecrest, I want to especially thank everyone who works
in the College Center for their extraordinary assistance in my pursuit of a col-
lege education. Through their dedication, and with the unyielding support of
Shorecrest's faculty, my family and friends, I will be attending Dartmouth on a
full academic scholarship offered through the Questbridge National College
Match Program. I understand how fortunate I am to have this extraordinary
opportunity and look forward to the future with great enthusiasm.
would not be possible without the help of all
my amazing teachers. Since Kinder garten,
each and every one of them has instilled in
me a sense of self-discipline, a passion for
learning, and a persistent work ethic.
Shorecrest's athletic program has greatly
impacted me. I swam for Shorecrest in
middle school and in high school after I
returned from St. Pete High. The swim
team is a very important community to
me. I didn't think much of it until my senior
year, when I became the team captain. This
is when I first saw the swim team as one big
community. I was responsible for everyone
in it. As the season went on, I noticed a
transformation in me. I lost the insecurity
and timidity I had at the beginning of the
season. I learned what it takes to be a
leader, and developed a sense of commu-
nity and camaraderie in my team that I had
never really experienced before. I credit
Shorecrest with this newfound sense of
responsibility and leadership, not only in
the pool but in the classroom as well.
I couldn't have made it through Shorecrest
without the amazing group of kids I am
blessed to call my friends. Some of them
have been at Shorecrest since the begin-
ning while others joined in middle school
or high school. Regardless, every one of
them has made my time at Shorecrest a
truly unparalleled experience, be it franti-
cally cramming before a Doc essay, having
a blast at the lunch table everyday, playing
basketball after school, or spending all day
studying before an AP exam. I am really
going to miss them next year.
