the last couple of months have been jam-packed for the legacy

ple of months has included its 14th anniversary, the continued

In celebration of Arbor Month, the Michelangelo Hotel worked with Food & Trees for
Africa (FTFA) to plant trees towards a greener, healthier environment at Ikaneng
Combined School in Diepkloof. Legacy Hotels hosted an event at the Ikaneng School in
September, where staff, learners and educators planted four fruit and eleven indigenous
trees. The trees will help to green the grounds and settle the dust, and in the next few
years the children will enjoy the addition of fruit with their meals.

The month of October was a special
one for the Legacy Hotel Group as
it marked the 14th anniversary of
the group as "Legacy". Yes it was
14 years ago, in fact on 25 October
1999 that Legacy was born. Then an
idea and a dream, today, although
considered a young hotel group,
Legacy boasts 24 hotels of which the
combined number of rooms, units and
suites totals 2860.

executIve cheF hosts the Best
The executive chef of the Michelangelo
Hotel, Rob Creaser, recently hosted a
chef's table at the hotel in Sandton. Invited
were top chefs from around the country
all of whom enjoyed a meal from the
kitchens of the Michelangelo while sharing
ideas, discussing trends in the industry
and just generally catching up. Chefs who
attended included representatives such
as the executive sous chef of the Palazzo,
executive chef of Maslow, executive chef
at Investec, the Chairman of the Chefs
Association, executive chef of the Radisson
Gautrain, executive chef of the Hilton, the
former executive chef of the Westcliffe, and
the executive chef of Tsogo Sun.
