creating positive healing spaces for south african wildlife
iving in Africa we are fortunate enough to be exposed to her glorious wildlife on an
almost continual basis. But with this comes great responsibility, as resource hungry
man is eating away at the habitat in which this wildlife is living and a lack of education
often leads to unintentional harm being caused to them.
It is with this that Wild is Life, based just 20 minutes from Harare in
Zimbabwe, was formed. According to its founders, Wild is Life is a fusion of
humanity and wildlife and a haven of comfort and seclusion in the form of a
healing wildlife sanctuary that not only cares for the welfare of its animals,
but also for the spirit of the guests who pay these animals and their sanctuary a visit.
It is through the caring of animals and the spirit of its caregivers and the people who
visit it, that the sanctuary's cornerstone philosophy "One by One" was created this
encompasses the importance of respecting each animal in its care as individuals as sentient
beings.
Working with its brand partner and business counterpart, Grand Africa, with its Grand
Africa Foundation, Legacy Lifestyle was introduced to Wild is Life by Grand Africa proprietor
Sue Main who is a friend and supporter of the organisation. Together the companies are
looking at joint methods and means to assist the sanctuary in achieving its goals and in
living by its "One by One" philosophy.
