experience a new dining concept
BuTcher Boys
The creation of Laz and Derryk, Butcher
Boys opened its doors in Morningside in
Durban in November 1999. Specialising in
all things "grill", this restaurant serves the
best beef in South Africa. The beef is wet
or dry aged depending on the cut, then
grilled to perfection and basted with the
restaurant's secret basting sauce, a treat
for any meat lover.
In addition, the chefs here specialise
in grilling by design through the cutting
of the meat according to the diners
preference whether it be lean, fatty,
a particular weight or thickness. Not
only can diners devour the meat in the
restaurant, but the choice cuts and biltong
can also be taken home when visiting
the in-house butcher. Besides the meat
served here, the adventurous menu offers
a variety of other meals and a selection of
vintage wines that enhance these meals.
Guests can enjoy their meal and dine in
a warm and inviting setting created by
dark wood ceiling accents, natural walls,
wooden tables and chairs and decorative
art and wine lining the walls.

Bar Ba coa
The second restaurant under the Urban
Dining group's portfolio is Bar Ba Coa, an
Argentinian grill and bar styled restaurant.
The venue celebrates the age-old
relationship between fire and food, as well
as the sincere love of good food. Inspired
by the traditional form of cooking meat over
hot coals or fire widely practiced by the
Guacho's of Argentina, Bar Ba Coa gives
South Africans the opportunity to share and
experience a feast of Argentinian flavours
that are cooked in this traditional way.
Serving food in abundance and hot off
the charcoal grill onto boards and asados
(a stainless steel food warmer heated with
glowing charcoal), the meat takes centre
stage. As nothing complements a charcoal
grilled steak better than a fine wine,
Bar Ba Coa has a wide selection of top
quality wines to choose from. If the wine
and steak is not urban-dining enough for
diners, then the interior is sure to fulfil their
expectations. With a reddish focal wall
immediately setting the scene, the animal
large canvas paintings and low hanging
lights add to the ambiance, creating yet
again, another warm and inviting place to
eat.
