Transforming Communities
equanimity:
What has changed since the last time we talked
to you?
pavlina:
I listen more to people than I used to ... I think that
comes from experience and being more comfortable with what I'm
doing. I've talked with some amazing musicians, but also some
great leaders like Steve Forbes and Gloria Steinem. And I have a
show called Pavlina On the Go that has its first airing (it's the pilot)
on PBS March 17, so that's exciting!
equanimity:
Have you accomplished your short-term goals?
pavlina:
That and then some! My radio show is on more radio
stations now. Pavlina On the Go was an extra surprise. Being
considered as part of the media at different red carpet events and
other events has pushed me to become better.
equanimity:
Who is your greatest inspiration?
pavlina:
Each interview is a great inspiration because the people
I interview have accomplished a lot in their lives, but they also have

P
avlina Osta is a thirteen-year-old journalist committed to transforming her
community. This multitalented, young journalist is not only involved in civic
issues but also has her own radio show called Pavlina's Kidz Place. On her show,
she interviews celebrities and "kool" kids and spotlights organizations worth knowing
about. If there's a protest march, she's there to cover it. Among other things, Pavlina is
also a musician, a professional steel drum player, and the editor of several newspapers.
Pavlina is not new to Equanimity. A lot has happened since we last featured her in the
fall edition of 2011. Our interview with her this time reveals how much progress she's
made since our last conversation.
