Kevin Sorbo
K
evin Sorbo is perhaps best known for his
title role in the popular television series
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, his
character based on the Greek hero reputed to
be the "strongest man in the world." However,
even the strongest have their limits, and those
limits hit Sorbo hard while he was shooting
season five. He had been having a great deal of
shoulder pain and he went to his chiropractor
in the United States after wrapping up filming
in New Zealand. The chiropractor cracked his
neck, releasing blood clots from an aneurism in
his shoulder into his system. Three of the clots
went to Sorbo's brain, causing him to have three
strokes. While such a condition might flatten
many people, he was determined to overcome
the limitations of his body and get back to work.
Recover he did! He wrote a book, True Strength,
about the journey back to health, he's had a
number of film projects, and he's working with a
charity organization, World Fit for Kids. Recently,
I spoke with him about his accomplishments.
ronda Bowen (rB):
Let's start by talking a bit
about your book, True Strength. The book recounts
the struggles you had following an aneurysm in your
shoulder and three strokes. Can you briefly explain
what happened for our readers?
Kevin SorBo (KS):
I was down in New Zealand.
