have helped change the spectrum regarding how people
conduct their daily lives mentally and/or spiritually.
equanimity:
of the interviews you've conducted,
were there any you regretted airing on your show?
if so, how did you bring closure to that?
FW:
The benefit of owning or running your own
business/show/ministry is the ability to vet who you
deal with. I take the things I expose my listeners to
extremely seriously, and therefore I do not engage with
anyone I don't think will advance the specific spirit and
purpose of Inside Gospel. The interviews on my show
are prerecorded in an effort to cut extra content and only
leave things that would be beneficial and inspirational for
the listener.
equanimity:
on average, how many people do you
interview a day?
FW:
Well, I schedule interviews on specific days of the
week in order to balance my workload. The number
has been as low as one and as high as five in one day,
excluding live interviews at events. Some events can
involve as many as fifteen short interviews.
equanimity:
How do you keep and connect with
your listeners?
FW:
I'm the vessel; God makes it happen. I believe he
has anointed me in music ministry, and as long as I stay
focused on lifting him up, he draws.
equanimity:
What's the top thing your listeners
like about your show?
FW:
Honestly, I'd say the spirit of the show. It has a light
feel with heavy content, and it can speak to a diverse
world with a diverse sound and point everybody to the
one God.

equanimity:
Has your passion always been gospel?
FW:
Absolutely. I don't mean to sound deep or anything, but from the days in
my mother's womb, when I was being prayed over, to the times I tried to live "in
the world" as a young teen, to this present day, I've never been able to dismiss
God's spirit and the character of his spirit in my life. I've never wanted anything
else. I've always loved being in music ministry, and I honestly believe it's what
God made me to do.
equanimity:
What inspired you to start your own radio talk show?
FW:
God gave me the vision for [Inside Gospel] ten years ago while I was
earning my undergraduate degree at Prairie View A&M University. Everything
up until November 19, 2011, was training, I believe. I'm honestly not sure what
made me do it other than my incredibly strong belief that others wanted to hear
Christian radio the way God was putting it in my spirit to produce. So I put it out
there. And coincidentally, Prairie View A&M University's radio station, KPVU 91.3
FM, was the first to add my show to their programming. They are still an affiliate
to this day, and I thank God for them and their support.
equanimity:
How big is your organization? How many employees?
FW:
Well, Inside Gospel is owned by the parent company Vision Media,
LLC (VisionMedia1.com), which is a media and marketing content company.
Under the umbrella of Vision Media, we're able to provide a media platform
to organizations and ministries that otherwise might not be able to attain as
much. There's also a philanthropic arm to the ministry called The Giving Project
(
MyGivingProject.com
) where we're able to directly reach out and touch people
in need. So the ministry helps lift others up through Vision Media, directly
touches them through The Giving Project, and exposes them to what the church
in its totality looks and sounds like through Inside Gospel.
Believe it or not, right now the staff has less than five people, including myself.
God doesn't need many people to make a great impact.
equanimity:
if you were to live your life over again, what would you do
differently? and what would you keep the same?
FW:
Honestly, I don't understand how pain, trial, and "the grind" being forced on
you can create humility, endurance, and focus. Therefore, I don't think I would
change a thing. Thus far I have been placed in his favor, and I pray to never
leave that place.
