Bemi:
We represent a diverse community
of ordinary people who are accomplishing
extraordinary things through the medium
of mentoring. Our primary focus and

wisdom, knowledge and understanding

a Chosen and Special Generation to
positively influence their environment,
neighborhood, community, city, state,
country, world and next generation for a
lifetime. Our mentor program is five months

Miller, what is the one and
most important thing you tell students who
enroll in the BEMI program?
Bemi:
As the Founder and CEO, I
personally speak to every mentee,
informing them that before you can
effective recognize and utilize all your gifts
and talents, it is important to understand
who you are. Your identity is the foundation
of who you are and who you will become.
You hear many people say that knowledge
is power, and that is a true statement.
However, I have learned that the source
of acquiring knowledge with thorough
understanding comes from someone skilled
in how to use the power of words in written
or verbal form. Thus, a key ingredient in
becoming an effective mentor, teacher and
coach is to create a ripple effect, producing
positive results that will last a lifetime. I also
personally sign every student's curriculum
book with the following quotes: You are
Special and Unique. There is no one on
the face of the earth exactly like you. Your
future is bright, full of hope and purpose.
You are destined to do great things!!!
equanimity:
How did you pick the name
for your organization? What does the
name symbolize?
Bemi:
The name of the organization,
Butterfly Effect Mentoring Institute, or
BEMI, was inspired by God and born out
of my personal journey of discovering who
I am and how to consistently yield success
in every area of my life: intellectually,
physically, emotionally, socially and
spiritually. People undergo a similar
process of transformation to that of the
butterfly. Before the butterfly reached its full
potential by taking flight and possessing
great vision to accomplish what it could
never accomplish prior to its transformation
experience, it was a caterpillar. It was
only able to crawl on the ground and see
a few feet in front of him. Although the
caterpillar started out as a small insect, its
creator placed something on the inside:
hidden gifts and talents. The caterpillar
had to pursue, discover, embrace and yield
to a pattern of process and preparation
that would allow the transformation of
something beautiful, special and unique
to occur in its life. This is why I named
the organization BEMI - Butterfly Effect
Mentoring Institute.
