It's Never 2 Late (IN2L) brings together a range of
technologies that have been strategically developed
to jump-start wellness, as well as physical and
cognitive health programs. IN2L empowers users
to self-direct their own activities, therapies and to
engage, empower and encourage lifelong learning.
Activities
The system is designed to engage elders and
create excitement in order to maximise community
participation, enhance their relationships with
their families, and to promote independence and
learning at any age.
IN2L can be used in several ways: recreation,
communication, therapy and lifelong learning.
Benefits
IN2L provides a customised picture-based interface
that is designed to launch from a touch screen.
The system includes a wide range of software
and hardware including puzzles, cognitive games,
bicycle simulation and memory activities. As well
as providing a unique and interactive recreational
tool, IN2L has numerous activities that can help a
resident reach occupational therapy, physiotherapy
and speech pathology goals.
Overall, the IN2L system enables recreational, social
and therapy activities to be tailored to meet the
needs of the individual user. It is a person-centred
system that can improve the wellbeing and standard
of living for a range of users.
