How does Bobby V, deal with negativity and negative influences in general?
You gotta have tough skin especially when it comes to social media. The positive is that you can connect with your
fans but the negative is that there are a lot of haters out there who will try and rain on your parade and will try and
knock you down and say bad things. But, you know you can't pay attention to that stuff, you just have to develop
tough skin and have faith and belief in yourself. You can't listen to anybody and take what they say on board. You
can't be influenced by what people say. People have told me that I don't have what it takes and I proved them wrong.
I don't know if you know but I tried out for American Idol when I was at college and was trying to break into the
industry. I performed a Jodeci song and Simon was like `Valentino No!'. It honestly hurt my feelings. I was really
hurt but I had to keep on going. I couldn't be like Simon said I couldn't do it so I'm going to give up. I maintained
my faith and I kept going. I actually have a song on my EP that answers this question perfectly; it's called `Never
Give Up'. That's what you have to do in life, you have to keep pushing and never give up.
What can we expect from you over the next 6 months?
I will be promoting my new EP and putting out more videos. Right now, it's a 6 single EP but eventually it will be a
full album. I want to tour and perform the EP and show as many people as possible that it's a new me, a new Bobby
V. I want people to see me perform with my new band and hear my new material.
Thanks Bobby for answering or questions. Please round them off by completing these sentences....
I am at my best when.... I'm performing.
Dreams can.... change your life.
Self-belief can.... help influence someone else.
I am most focused on.....being the best musician I can be.
The best advice I can offer someone who wants to break into the music industry is.....have faith in yourself and
never give up because the day you give up just might have been the day you made it.
I am a `Superman' because...I work hard, I grind hard and I'm a blue collar artist.
