30Fifteen, is an interesting brand name, why did you
choose it?
Well, the debut collection had a lot to do with the brand
name. I wanted it to be associated with tennis but not
outright obvious, because at the end of the day we aren't
a tennis brand we are a women's active wear brand. So
when I decided to go with 30Fifteen, I felt it sounded
different, had a little bit of an edge, but was still a sports
score. Which sums 30Fifteen up, we are different; have an
edge but are an active wear brand.
How did you raise your start up capital to launch your
clothing line?
I was really fortunate that I know a lot of people that
know people who like to invest in new companies, so I
managed to get in front of the right people at the right
time.
What is the key highlight of launching your own
business venture?
Meeting new people, working with suppliers and being
in complete control I think is a big highlight. I won't ever
forget my first sale either.
What key tips have you learned along the way that
would be beneficial to other young and ambitious
women like yourself?
Be clear in your mind exactly what you want to achieve,
work hard, treat people how you want to be treated and
remember this world is incredibly small so be careful
how you act.
