rust is one of those awesome and wonderful
things that allow a relationship, no matter with
whom to weather even the most tumultuous storms.
Trust is a cornerstone in any relationship and
supports that relationship by increasing one's belief
in the other person. The funny thing about trust is
that one way or another it's being built. Trust also
has its own rewards. The more you show you can
be trusted the more trust you build and this is an
ultimate WIN/WIN situation. However, when you
give trust and there is no reward.
That can be very destructive to your relationship.
LET'S SHOW YOU HOW!
When a person makes a promise and fulfils
that promise. You can trust that person has
the capacity to keep their promises.
THIS IS
A STRENGTHENING FACTOR IN YOUR
RELATIONSHIP!
Equally, if a person makes a promise and
doesn't fulfil that promise you can trust that
they have the capacity to break promises.
THIS
IS A WEAKENING FACTOR IN YOUR
RELATIONSHIP!
Some of the longest relationships have stopped
because of lack of trust within their union. Without
this powerful component, it is virtually impossible
to grow and develop as a team. You will always be
batting on separate teams if you are too busy playing
around on your partner or holding secrets behind
their backs.
What happens when you continue to trust someone
that doesn't fulfil that trust?
Evidently you're killing the respect and love in that
relationship and worse still you are selling yourself
short. The relationships that stand the test of time
are those where each person present within the
relationship understand and practice the act of
giving and receiving trust because ultimately they
respect themselves. There is no doubt that those who
cheat within a relationship do so because they are
unfulfilled, however if they loved themselves enough
they wouldn't have to sink to this level.
By giving trust to a person that doesn't fulfil it nor
respect it, you are giving them a reward for not
fulfilling the ultimate `must' within your partnership.
You are giving a Reward for no trust! In my opinion,
it's the equivalent of giving a dog a pat on the head
and a doggie treat every time it leaves a mess on the
floor. Not only does allowing the dog to do this help
to develop a terrible habit but it also leaves your
house inhabitable. If you have a house with no trust,
it will never become your home or haven.
If you are currently within a relationship that you
do not feel is developing or growing and you are
plagued with insecurities about the direction you are
going in. Take the brave necessary step and ask for a
break. Take time out to evaluate why you are actually
in this relationship, establish whether you are in a
toxic or positive place and if you can't answer that
with confidence, it's time to make your move and
leave before it gets worse down the line. Of course,
it is never, ever easy to walk away from someone
you love. However, if your relationship is filled with
doubt and jealousy and trust is not in the immediate
equation, it's time you subtract yourself, divide the
assets and multiply your confidence in yourself and
who you can now become now you have the sense to
close that revolving door and move forward.
