hershey track & field meet
Participate in this event for a good introduction to track and
field activities. Registration is required. Local winners advance
to the State meet in Jefferson City. Best times and distances
in the region become eligible to attend the national meet in
Hershey, Pennsylvania. You can register at the Parks & Recre-
ation office, Armory Sports Center, the ARC, or online at www.

The first 100 children to register will close registration. Open

Test your football skills against others your age! Competition
is for both boys and girls. Winners qualify for the sectionals
competition and have the chance to compete at an NFL sta-

from 1994-2001. Note: Absolutely no cleats, football shoes, or
turf shoes can be worn. Only soft-soled gym/running shoes are

Children will learn simple base running, and the basics of
hitting, throwing, and catching. Fitness and agility will be
emphasized along with following instructions, taking turns and

Beginning archery
Come learn more about this growing sport! Bring your own bow
and arrows if you have them, or equipment will be provided.
First class of each session will be held at the ARC, all others
will be held at Powder Horn Gun and Archery Shop. Instructor
Jim Sappington is an NRA certified coach, USA Archery Level 2
instructor and the lead instructor for the Missouri 4H club.

Learn the basic fundamentals of this increasingly popular sport.
Members of the Columbia Disc Golf Club will be on site to pro-
vide demonstrations, as well as offer tips and information on
fundamentals and strategies of the sport. Some equipment will
be provided for participants to use during the clinic, however
participants are encouraged to bring their own discs if possible.
