You can help stop the abuse:
Helping a vulnerable person is easy; all you need to do is share your concerns with us.
Your call may just be the one bit of help that the vulnerable person needs to escape and be free from abuse.
If you are being abused yourself, we may be able to help stop it.
Who to call:
If you believe that a vulnerable person is being abused or if you feel that you are a vulnerable person and you are
being abused please contact the Safeguarding Adults Team of North East Lincolnshire.
When you contact the team you will be asked for some basic information about the person you are concerned about,
and what you have been told, heard, seen or suspect. It is best if the abused person has agreed for you to call us, but
even if they haven't please call us - we still might be able to help. This is especially important if other people could be
at risk from the alleged abuser.
If you are worried about making the call yourself, you could share your concerns with a nurse, health worker, doctor,
housing o cer or advice centre (e.g. CAB) and ask them to contact the Safeguarding Adults Team for you.
Take action and help to stop adult abuse by talking to someone you can trust.

Adult Social Care Finance
When you have been assessed as requiring a non-residential service and you are aged 18 or over you will be o ered a
nancial assessment to ascertain your means to pay towards your care.
A Visiting O cer from the Community Care Finance function will contact you to explain what information will be
required to complete the assessment and to advise you that you can have a family member or friend present with you
when the visit takes place within your home.
In order to calculate your charge, we will need to see your bene t award letter, bank statements, utility bills, pension
statements and any other relevant nancial information you hold. The Visiting O cer will complete the assessment with
you taking into account the government's guidance "Fairer Contributions guidance" and the local charging policy.
Unfortunately, there is not a set of standard circumstances that would mean you contribute towards your care so it is
recommended that you have an assessment in order for us to calculate the lowest charge possible. As part of the
nancial assessment, we will also carry out a bene ts check to make sure you are receiving your full entitlement.
If you do not want to declare your nancial information to us, you will be charged the full cost of your care. Once a
nancial assessment has been completed, most service users only pay a contribution towards their care and not the full
cost so it is recommended that you undertake the assessment process.
