TASK FORCES
DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION TASK FORCE
The mandate of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force is to
establish a culture that champions an inclusive vision of home ownership and to
advocate for fair and equal access to housing for all.
Responsibilities include:

Provide recommendations on learning opportunities for members to
understand the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the business of
real estate.
·
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices to LSTAR
membership.
·
Raise awareness of the value proposition of adoption and
implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices.
·
Provide recommendations on creating local chapters of organizations
who share LSTAR's vision and values.
·
Build collaborative relationships with key influencers.
The DEI Task Force met in February, to continue dialogue on why DEI initiatives
are integral to the business of real estate and to identify potential
DEI opportunities that would provide value to the LSTAR Membership.
The task force discussed the importance of an Indigenous Land Acknowledgment, which the Association created with the
support of Tia Kennedy, Equity and Belonging Consultant at Kiinewkwe. LSTAR debuted the Land Acknowledgment at its
AGM on June 28.
INTERBOARD RELATIONS TASK FORCE
The mandate of the Interboard Relations Task Force is to examine the current
state of real estate boards and associations, understand association issues, and
explore opportunities for collaboration.
The task force met in May to discuss Member engagement, education, and
event opportunities with neighbouring boards and associations.
