COMMUNICATION ENGAGEMENT STATS
Looking to improve and update our communications, in 2022 LSTAR made a big move by hiring a new Communications
Coordinator. With the goal of boosting our social media presence and supporting all our communication projects, this new
addition was a vital piece of the puzzle.
The year 2022 was a busy one for our Communications Department, with the rebuilding of the public website and
the replacement of our old members-only website, LSTAR's site on REALTOR Link®. The public website had to be
redesigned as the technical support for its previous platform was set to be discontinued. Meanwhile, the announcement
from the Canadian Real Estate Association that the REALTOR Link® platform would be retired mid-September made
creating a new Member Hub a top priority.
But the Communications team's contributions didn't stop there. Here are just a few more of their noteworthy projects from
last year:
·
Micro-learning videos to help introduce OneHome® and BrokerBay
·
A refreshed brand identity, with updated branding guidelines to ensure a consistent look and feel across all
LSTAR forms, materials, and designs
·
Support for LSTAR's weekly educational quizzes
·
The launch of asynchronous courses developed in collaboration with Fanshawe College's Corporate Training Solutions.
E-NEWSLETTERS
The LSTAR e-Bulletin, sent at the end of each month, is the primary communication channel between the organization
and its Members. In 2022, the e-Bulletin had an average unique open rate of 61.63%, which was 6.13% higher than the
previous year. However, its average unique click rate was 7.7%, which was 1.1% lower compared to 2021. The unique
open rate represents the percentage of emails that were opened compared to the total number of emails sent, while the
click-through rate indicates the number of people who clicked on a link in the email compared to the number of unique
opens. Both of these rates are significantly higher compared to industry averages. According to Constant Contact, the
average unique open rate for Nonprofit Membership Organizations was 39.4%, and the average unique click rate was
1.4%. The real estate sector as a whole had an average unique open rate of 33.25% and an average click rate of 0.85%.
The LSTAR e-Stats newsletter, which includes the monthly statistical news release and a comprehensive Member
Statistical Package, is distributed to Members at the beginning of each month to keep them informed about the real estate
market in the region. In 2022, the e-Stats had a unique open rate of 64.28%, which was 10.98% higher than the previous
year. The unique click rate was 3.99%.
