LSTAR ANNUAL GENERAL REVIEW 2022
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
The mandate of the Education Committee is to engage and inform LSTAR
Members and partners by facilitating and collaborating their access to education
and information to enhance their ability to serve the general community.
Responsibilities include:

Work with staff in establishing a curriculum that meets the needs of the
Members and general community;
·
Support LSTAR strategic initiatives with collaborative educational
institutions (e.g. Fanshawe College and Western University); and
·
Act as an ambassador to champion Member and public engagement.
In 2022, the Education Committee met in January, May, June, August, and
December, to provide suggestions on the speakers and topics for the LSTAR
Webinar Series and to support in the development for the asynchronous learning
curriculum.
With the committee's input, the Directors recommended and approved updating
LSTAR's Mandatory New Member Training Policy, with all new members
required to complete all courses that comprise LSTAR's new member
training, in the following order, with the policy going into effect on March 1, 2022:

90-Minute Information Systems of Ontario (ITSO) Introduction to the
MLS® Rules, Policies, and REALTOR® Code Course (Asynchronous)
·
3-Hour LSTAR Introduction to Organized Real Estate Course (In-Person)
