Member Hub
In March, CREA announced that the REALTOR Link® platform was scheduled to be discontinued by mid-September,
requiring LSTAR to provide a new Member Hub to its Members. Development began in March, with a launch scheduled
for early 2023.
Public Website
In August, LSTAR launched a new public website, www.lstar.ca, with a fresh look and feel. The work to rebuild the website
started in January. This was necessary, since the software for the old website was slated to be discontinued by the end of
2022. The rebuilt website offers many new features and is fully responsive.
The Imagine Build
In April, the Board of Directors recommended and approved that LSTAR support the Imagine Build Project event
scheduled in June by becoming the presenting sponsor with a donation of $10,000. The Imagine Build is focused on
building accessible homes on the Oneida Nation of the Thames. This is part of the Association's community campaign
giving program.
MEMBER ENGAGEMENT
EDUCATION AND LEARNING
In 2022, LSTAR offered 176 technology classes both in person and via Zoom. The learning suite includes the LSTAR
Introduction to Organized Real estate course, as well as the core computer lab classes. In total, 1,626 attendees took part
in the technology classes.
The Board of Directors recommended and approved updating LSTAR's Mandatory New Member Training Policy, with all
new Members being required to complete all courses that comprise LSTAR's new member training, in the following order:
·
90-Minute Information Systems of Ontario (ITSO) Introduction to the MLS® Rules, Policies, and REALTOR®
Code Course (Asynchronous)
·
3-Hour LSTAR Introduction to Organized Real Estate (ORE) Course
In 2022, a total of 252 Members completed the ITSO Member course requirement, while 372 Members completed the
Intro to ORE course.
In March, LSTAR launched a pilot of short Micro-Quizzes that cover key compliance issues, with the objective of engaging
more Members who have not recently taken an LSTAR class. Because of the high engagement and popularity, micro-
quizzes became a regular part of the Education program. In 2022, 7,557 quizzes were completed, with more than 54,000
engagements (e.g. views, likes, shares, clicks). That created 507 call-to-action responses, including registrations for
courses and accessing Education resources.
LSTAR's partnership with Corporate Training Solutions (CTS) Fanshawe added two brand new learning series in
September, Introduction to Residential Rentals for REALTORS® (one three-hour course) and Professional Standards for
REALTORS® Series (three courses three-hours each).
In July, LSTAR began offering weekly classes to support the launch of BrokerBay. Open to all Members and brokerage
staff, these classes ran parallel to classes being offered to brokerages directly by BrokerBay. LSTAR hosted a total of 25
classes with 471 attendees.
LSTAR continued its popular online webinar series launched in 2020, offering 19 complimentary webinars on a range of
topics selected by the membership through feedback surveys. In total, 1,469 attendees logged-in in-person and there
were 3,508 views of the recordings after the webinars were posted in the Past Webinars library on REALTOR Link®.
