practice juggling. Richard and his wife
Anita Ruane recently celebrated their
10th wedding anniversary. The couple
has two daughters, Niamh and
Aoileann. He was last "home" in 2007.
Bermuda Realty Company recognised
six staff members for their long service,
including 25-year veteran Winifred
Peniston ('78), mother of Rebecca
Dunstan ('02). Winifred, the com-
pany's senior accountant, joined
Jones Waddington in 1987 and
played an integral role in the integra-
tion of the Coldwell Banker system
in 1998. Promoted to corporate
controller in 2001 when the company
merged with Bermuda Realty, she
moved to her current post in 2010.
Winifred also holds a real estate
licence and has passed the real
estate broker's examination.
1980s
Reverend Nicholas Dill ('81), of St.
John's Church, Pembroke, this year
was elected Bishop of the Anglican
Church in Bermuda. The 49-year-old
father of six is the third Bermudian to
hold the post.
Jonathan Land Evans ('81) has self-
published his fifth book of Bermuda
history. Peace, Prudence and Prosperity:
A History of Bermuda from 1919 to
1939 is the first in a planned series of
at least four books tracing the modern
history of Bermuda. It is on sale at the
Bermuda Book Store, Hamilton, and
directly from www.lulu.com. His illus-
trated study of old Bermuda maps will
be published by the National Museum
of Bermuda Press next year.
Journalist and author Rosemary
Jones ('82) has been appointed to
the Media Council of Bermuda, the
Island's independent press watchdog.
HSBC Bermuda gave Diversity
Awards to nine staff, including
Raschid Alami-Merrouni ('88).
Winners were nominated by fellow
bank staff. The awards seek to create a
workplace culture which values people
for who they are, their perspective,
viewpoint and their contribution to
business success.
1990s
Stephen Frederick Bourne (1990)
and Andrea Strickland were married
on December 21 in Milledgeville, GA.
There will be a marriage celebration in
Jamaica in 2013 for friends and family.

After 15 years of working overseas, most recently as a vice-president at
Goldman Sachs,
Laura Farge-Lowe
('98, right, with mother Gillian) has
returned to Bermuda to join the family business, Island Trading. She will
join the company as vice-president, bringing a wealth of international
experience from her time in Boston, London and New York. "The last time
I lived on the Island was in my SGY year--it was a foundation year that
was instrumental in preparing me for university and entering the `real
world,'" she says. "As my husband and I settle back in Bermuda, I am sure
Saltus will be an important part of our future. I am excited about being
back in Bermuda and I am looking forward to growing an established
retail business in a challenging but exciting environment."
