Scholarship winners
Two Saltus thespians won scholar-
ships this year from the Bermuda
Shakespeare Schools Festival. SGY2
Katie Witkowski
, who plans to study
theatre at university, received $1,000,
while SGY1
Marcus Smith
received
$1,260--which he plans to use for
vocal lessons at the Bermuda School
of Music this summer. Marcus was
also first runner-up at the 12th Alpha
Beautillion, sponsored by the Alpha
Phy Alpha fraternity, winning a
$3,000 scholarship.
Our musicians were also recog-
nised. SGY1
Alex Fox
and S10
Liam
Peniston
were awarded scholarships
by the Menuhin Foundation. The
scholarships are handed out annually
to top student musicians of Grade 5
level or above.
Parents, teachers and guests filled Alumni Hall to hear the impressive sounds of the School's
Jazz Band, Concert Band, Secondary Orchestra and Wind Band at the Saltus Spring Concert.

) had a successful pre-Christmas trip to
Denmark, where they performed at the Danish Ministry of Finance,
the Gentofte Library, and a trio of schools, the Sank Joseph
School, Sankt Annae Gymnasium and Rygaards International
School. The quartet also delighted Bermuda audiences throughout
the winter season and performed with the Saltus Jazz Band to
great acclaim at Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society this spring
