Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) accepted $15,000
from the Local Owner Restaurant Association (LORA), an organization that
established a scholarship fund in its name through the foundation in 2011.
LORA raises money for its scholarship program through annual events
like the "Tastes for Tomorrow" Gala and generous donations from individu-
als and businesses. The fund at the foundation helps to ensure that LORA's
current fundraising efforts will provide scholarships in perpetuity to deserv-
ing local students.
LORA provides local students with $1,000 to $2,000 scholarships to pur-
sue higher education with a focus in the culinary arts and hospitality field.
