After completing an Economics degree from Yale University, he enrolled in a science programme at the University of North Carolina and expects to complete his degree in Biology this spring. He sat the M-Cat exam last May and has applied to medical schools. Brothers Jesse (2006) and Alexander “Zander” (2001) Kirkland head to Europe this summer for five ISAF Grade 1 events as they pursue their Olympic dreams to represent Bermuda at London 2012. They have been sailing full-time in the high-performance skiff, the 49er, since June 2010. The brothers’ first Olympic qualifier is at the end of the year in Perth, Australia.
