In April, she won four medals in the XVI Spain Club Cup in Castellón, Spain. Aitken, who lives and trains in Spain, won a gold medal in the 100m freestyle and silver in 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle. Eli Lipmen Lipschultz (’00), pictured with wife Sara-Jean Lipmen, recently graduated with a dual Masters degree in Global Media and Communications from the London School of Economics and the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication. After graduation, Eli was elected secretary of a neighbourhood council of the City of Los Angeles in his local community of Palms, CA. He was promoted at AJC, a global advocacy and human-rights organisation, becoming the communications strategist for AJC’s network of grassroots offices around the US. Michael Murdoch-Smith (’00) at Allied World Re has been with St. John’s Ambulance for over five years, moving from Sergeant to Deputy Commissioner two years ago. He recently completed the Medical First Responder course with Brian Steinhoff (’02). David Perinchief (2000) ended his 10-year career with the US Marines, having served in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he earned the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Kiera Aitken (’01) broke the 800metre freestyle long course record Jessica Sousa McClure (’00) was part of BELCO’s Environment Team that helped the company become the first organisation in Bermuda to be ISO 14001-certified for its environmental management system. She and husband Bill welcomed daughter Sophie Lynn—Bermuda’s first baby of 2011. Kimberley Caines (’02) came to SGY after 12 years at BHS and went on to the University of Western Ontario, London, Ont., graduating in 2006 with a BA (Hons.) in Women’s Studies and Spanish Language and Literature. She completed her LL.B. (Hons.) at the City Law School, City University, London, and the Bar Vocational Course (now the Bar Professional Training Course) at City Law School (formerly the Inns of Court School of Law). She writes: “While in law school, I completed the Blackstone Legal Fellowship and am now a Blackstone Fellow. I participated in local moots on the Island and helped establish a few organisations (such as Amnesty and a law society for international students) on my law school campus. I was called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in London on October 14, 2010, and my S A LT U S M A G A Z I N E Professional triathlete Tyler Butterfield (2001) won a bronze medal at the CAC games in Puerto Rico and finished the 2010 Hawaii Ironman World Championships in 28th position, in a time of eight hours, 46 minutes and 16 seconds.
