I think it is wonderful that Ron comes to a regional area for riders who may not have the opportunity or otherwise be able to access one of the best instructors in Australia. Chloe Edwards: The first lesson I had with Ron was after I had spent four years on a cattle station riding station horses like a cowboy. I had a young horse that I’d broken in myself and was also a cowboy horse. Two years later, after regular lessons, I have become a much better rider and have a horse which has come along in leaps and bounds, from chasing cows in a stock camp to quite the impressive image in the dressage arena. Much thanks to Ron for travelling out to us country folk and giving me the opportunity to achieve what I have. Leah Edwards: I enjoy Ron’s approach to teaching no matter what age or ability as he brings out the best in you and your horse, always leaving with positive comments and exercises to take home. When I first started with Ron I thought I wasn’t good enough and was just filling a space, now I look forward to two lessons each time he comes. Thanks Ron for giving an old girl the confidence to go out and compete again. Linda Page: As a rider returning to the sport after a number of years away, the most important criteria I expect from an instructor are honesty, knowledge and the genuine desire to help me, as a rider, improve so that my horse can perform to the best of his ability and enjoy his riding experience. I believe Ron has these aspects, coupled with a great ability to be flexible in his coaching approach (NO the Other Right!!) which has helped me to gain a better understanding of contact, impulsion and straightness but with relaxation always as the foundation. I really appreciate Ron being prepared to travel to a rural area to coach and his genuine enthusiasm for coaching all levels of riders. Chris Eales: Ron brings international quality expertise and current industry trends to the regional area and we benefit greatly from participating in Ron’s clinics. Ron’s knowledge and willingness to share his personal expertise gives greater depth to the training we enjoy. Ron Paterson: As a coach I get great personal enjoyment and satisfaction from being able to help riders of all level and disciplines enjoy their riding and by witnessing the fulfillment they achieve by improving their riding and personal relationship with their horse.
