The 30th Annual WAQHA State Championships was held over the Easter long weekend on the 29th, 30th and 31st of March at the State Equestrian Centre. WAQHA were lucky enough to bring back Ruth Ellen, from Texas USA, who had also judged at the 2010 WAQHA State Championships. Coverage of Friday and Saturday of the show can be read about in the June July issue of WA Show Scene. The last day of the state show, Sunday, started with Junior Horse Trail. Karen Cornish aboard her mare Inscription took out the Junior Horse trail. The AMQHA All Age and AMQHA Youth was won by Winderadeen Cee a Passer ridden by Nick Balchin. Amateur Senior was won by Bridget de Bijl riding Joyful Firefly, Junior Youth was won by Emily Stewart and Inquisitive Profit and the Select Amateur went to Rita Driscoll and This Zipnlee. Reining was next on the agenda and was held in the outside arena. Junior Horse was won by Make Me A Rich Kid shown by Ayla Harwood who also took out the Senior Youth title, and Senior Horse was won by Sheoak Dunn An Dusted ridden by Alyce Pegus. Select Amateur was won by Mary Treloar riding Tacoen Lord Lennie, Amateur Junior went to Heza Special Roc ridden by Ingrid Stanway and Amateur Senior Horse was won by Sheoak Dunn An Dusted and Alyce Pegus.
