On the 14th April 2013 the Australian Warmblood Horse Association ran their annual Gala Showcase Show incorporating Arabian Warmblood, Trakehners and Show Hunter and unofficial dressage classes at the very picturesque Perth Horse and Pony Club grounds in Herdsman. AWHA classifier, Silvia Ahamer from New South Wales, classified four stallions with three passing their classification, she then concluded her visit to WA by judging the halter and ridden classes at the Gala Show. The led in section was well supported, starting at 8.30am and continuing right up to past midday. There were three Warmblood stallions presented with Champion Stallion being awarded to Linda Page’s lovely grey, Noblewood Caretinos Boy and Reserve going to to the striking coloured Emir owned by Jill Wood-Ainslie. by Michelle Cosgrove. Supreme Champion Junior Exhibit was won by Penny Hill Park Bellagio and a very happy Libby Plunkett. In the Senior Arabian Warmblood classes the impressive mare Chatahn Estate Lady Hawke and Vernon Reed won the Champion title with Gesusa Park Santino and Sara Price coming Reserve. Champion Part Bred Trakehner went to Excelsior Centrepiece and Cassie McKarras and Reserve to Brenda Camarda’s Cassachi Park Posiden. Senior Champion Other Registered Warmblood was awarded to the lovely mare Torridon Rufina and Reserve to Noblewood Caretino’s Boy. Once the ridden classes started after lunch there were three events being held at the same time – the ridden breed, unofficial dressage and the RAS qualifier Show Hunter classes. Eleven riders competed for the Champion Rider title, this being won by Liz Tollarzo riding Wandiera Rembrant and Reserve Champion being awarded to Marjorie Radford riding Sonique. In the ridden breed classes Noblewood Caretino’s Boy had a great day out winning the Champion Ridden Stallion title with Reserve to Emir. Champion Ridden Mare went to the big moving Sonique and Reserve to Chatahn Estate Lady Hawke. Wandiera Rembrant took out the Champion Ridden Gelding with Reserve going to Gesusa Park Santino. With the ridden champions vying for the Supreme Ridden Exhibit the Judge put these three top horses through a thorough workout with the title finally being won by the wonderful mare Sonique. Although only having nine entries in the Show Hunter classes, there were some lovely quality horses and ponies on display with Tracey Hockley swaping into a Judging role after competing in the Warmblood Classes in the morning. Champion Show Hunter Hack was won by the bright chestnut gelding Wandiera Rembrant, ridden by Liz Tollarzo, with Reserve Champion being awarded to Wexford Park Black Ops, ridden by Tanya Crocker.
The Supreme Champion Exhibit was won by Noblewood Caretinos Boy who looked fantastic in his rug and garland whilst winning the $250 cash prize and the Marjorie Radford

Perpetual Trophy against some very stiff competition. As a seperate competition, there were many entries in the Junior AWHA sections with some seriously lovely horses being presented.Overall NP Caretino’s Boy with owner Linda Page and AWHA classifiers L-R Junior Champion went to Sylvia Ahamel, Linda Page, Michelle James, Lance Ludgate, Diane Libby Plunkett’s Penny Hill Bennitt and Elspeth Creech. Park Bellagio and Reserve to Marg Radford’s beautiful black imported Junior to Vernon Reed’s Chatahn Estate Royal mare, Sonique, with Reserve being N.E.P. Rose, who also won Champion Junior Arabian Ricadonna and Tracy Hockley. In the gelding Warmblood with Reserve Junior to Gesusa classes, six competed with Vernon Reed Park Santiago,owned by Sara Price. Junior and Bluefields Rosenglanz being awarded Champion Other Registered Warmblood went the Champion Gelding and Reserve to to Kylie Wall’s Norans Queen’s Court and Reserve to Lynwyn Park Monopoly, owned Wandiera Rembrant owned by Liz Tollarzo.
