AMG releases Smokecam360
London, UK
AMGPanogenics
has developed
Smokecam360 an ideal solution
for 360 degree fisheye camera
implementations in sensitive
environments such as care homes,
hospitals, nurseries.
Sara Bullock, International
Sales & Marketing Director of
AMG Group says, "We have
had a number of enquiries from
clients looking for a camera solu-
tion which is unobtrusive and
fits into sensitive environments
with minimal cost and effort.
The solution we have developed
is to embed the Panocam360 into
a smoke alarm case. The smoke
detector enclosure allows you
to discretely place the camera
in any ceiling, enabling you to
covertly record an area without
an intrusive camera visible to
everyone.
Smokecam360 offers all the fea-
tures of Panocam360; it's a 5MP
network camera, providing up to
fourteen simultaneous electronic-
pan-tilt-zoom (ePTZ) and pano-
ramic video streams which may be
recorded or viewed live. Multiple
ePTZ allows each user to control
the camera as if it was their own
unique PTZ without interference
to the other users. De-warping is
provided within the camera, which
reduces the load on the network
video recorder (NVR) system. Im-
ages can be viewed from a standard
web browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox
etc.) so no additional software is
required. Another key feature is
that the camera has absolutely no
moving parts, so no wear and tear,
which greatly reduces the mainte-
nance costs."
The market for Smokecam360
is large and AMG has noticed an
urgent demand for the feature/
functionality the solution offers.
Care homes and other environ-
ments with vulnerable individuals
have been clamouring for a covert
solution which allows them to
monitor individuals and leisure
areas efficiently. Smokecam360
outputs the full panoramic image
for recording purposes, which can
be combined with an integrated
recording system to provide ret-
rospective ePTZ. This effectively
allows the user to go `back in time'
and follow subjects as if you were
still viewing live. Having the full
360 degree view also means that
a single camera can cover a large
area thus reducing the number
of cameras needed. This is quite
significant development for the
market the camera is directed at, as
it significantly reduces the invest-
ment required. AMG has further
developed a low profile housing
version for transport applications.

New Raytec Panoramic lighting
Ashington, Northumberland (UK)
Raytec
have launched a new range
of Panoramic illuminators, repre-
senting the latest development in
ultra wide angle LED illumination
for seamless, full scene CCTV
images at night all from a single
unit.
Historically, it has always
been challenging to illuminate
extremely large areas from one
lighting unit, without suffering
from a reduction in distance or a
poor spread of light.
The new range of Panoramic
illuminators offer a much better
spread of light and longer illumi-
nation distances due to Raytec
designed ultra-efficient light dis-
tribution techniques. Panoramic
illuminators are ideal for PTZ or
dome cameras covering large areas
and also when matched with high
definition, megapixel cameras
fitted with wide angle lenses. The
high quality illumination is de-
signed to produce excellent clarity
and detail even when zooming in
over long distances.
Available in both Infra-red and
White-light, all Panoramic LED
illuminators utilise holographic
lens technology to spread and con-
trol the light, creating a softer and
more even distribution. Panoramic
units feature hot-spot reduction
technology (HRT), directing the
light where it is most needed to
not only deliver longer illumina-
tion distances and minimise light
waste, but also to provide full
scene coverage without hot spots
caused by over-exposure.
Panoramic illuminators also
feature an adaptive illumination
system, which allows the angle of
illumination to be quickly and
easily adjusted onsite, anywhere
from 60-180° to match the specific
camera field of view.
According to Raytec Pano-
ramic lighting now makes high
performance illumination for both
dome/PTZ cameras and megapixel
cameras with a wide field of view
more affordable, with the ability to
achieve higher quality pictures at
greater distances.
Hikvision unveils entry level standalone DVR series
Hangzhou, China
Hikvision
recently released a
new standalone DVR series the
DS-7200HFI/HVI-SH, designed
for the entry-level security market
by using a high-definition video
output, a friendly user interface,
and multi-channel real-time moni-
toring and offered at an economic
price point.
Compared with Hikvision's
DS-7200HFI/HVI-ST(/SN/
SE) series of standalone DVRs,
the new DS-7200HFI/HVI-SH
series supports VGA and HDMI
outputs simultaneously, with up
to 1920x1080 resolution. This
provides users a versatile solution
for real-time video viewing, and
also allows them the experience of
a cost-effective, but high-quality
method to secure their businesses.
The DS-7200HFI/HVI-SH
features high-quality 4CIF record-
ing in real time across its up-to
16 channels. It even allows up to
128-channel streaming of remote
live viewing (within 60M band-
width), allowing users to access
their videos anytime and anywhere
over the internet. This DVR fur-
ther supports alarm functionality
with motion and tamper detec-
tion. When critical events (such
as theft) occur within the owners'
premises, this DVR's alarm event
recording is triggered, generating
instant notification via E-mail to
allow owners the ability to take
whatever proactive response they
deem necessary.
This DS-7200HFI/HVI-SH
DVR series also incorporates a
highly intuitive user interface with
friendly apps and widgets. One
time-saving feature is the cus-
tomisation of tags in the operation
interface for video information,
which allows users further control
over their systems to locate key
events. Other features include 2
SATA hard disks with a capacity of
up to 4Tb each, and dual stream-
ing with the sub stream allowing
remote preview and mobile phone
monitoring via limited bandwidth.
HDD quota management is also
supported to optimise the capacity
assignment to different chan-
nels and minimize video storage
requirements.
