Hike the Hill
A
s reported by President Dan
Egan in the November issue
of Values & Visions, repre-
sentatives from credit unions
across Massachusetts met at
Credit Union House and the U.S.
Senate Russell Office building
during the Hike the Hill program
on October 30 and 31. They
heard presentations by U.S.
Senators, members of the House,
members of the National Credit
Union Administration (NCUA)
Board, and senior staff officials of
the Consumer Financial Protection
Bureau (CFPB). Prominent among
the invited guests were Senator
Elizabeth Warren, Congressman
Richard Neal, Congressman Jim
McGovern, NCUA Board Chairman
Debbie Matz, NCUA Board Mem-
ber Rick Metsger, and CFPB Dep-
uty Director Steve Antonakes.
The credit union representatives
were there to reinforce credit un-
ions' need for regulatory relief
and the tax exemption, which is
based on the core cooperative
concept of credit unions.
Here are a few photographs of
your credit union representatives
as they as they spoke on the be-
half of all Massachusetts credit
unions. Please consider joining
them at the Governmental Affairs
Conference in February 23-27,
2014.
