The southernmost point of Denmark
Welcome to Gedser the southernmost town
Gedser and Gedser Odde are situated at the southernmost point of Denmark. The town boasts a quite unique cultural environment, characterised by its close link to the railway and the ferry traffic between Gedser and Rostock.
A tour of Gedser 15 June – 31 August 2013
Duration: Approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes Departure from the ferry terminal for arrivals at 11am and 1pm. From the ferry terminal to Gedesby Mølle and back. Gedser Remise railway museum’s old platform and luggage tractor takes you on a tour of Gedser, where you will be shown the sights of the town.
Korsbæk Station and Sydstenen
The town’s location at the southernmost point of Denmark and its close proximity to the sea make the town an ideal place to visit. Visit the legend-ary Gedser Station, which was used as the set for Korsbæk Station in the Danish TV series Matador, or visit Sydstenen at Gedser Odde, Denmark’s - and thereby Scandinavia’s - southernmost point. Get close to the dynamic nature all year round, and be sure to look out for the large flocks of migrating birds flying over Gedser Odde in the autumn in particular.
