nothing sounds more like summer than the crack of the bat.
there are several major league baseball stadiums within close
proximity to the water that can make for a great excursion that
combines the fun of boating with the thrill of america's favorite
summertime sport.
in the Big apple, citi field, the home of the new york mets,
sits just off flushing Harbor. you can dock at the World's fair
marina and head to the mets game. advance marina reservations
are a must, though. the U.s. open occurs nearby at arthur ashe
stadium so you can use the same game plan to attend that iconic
new york sports event.
the home of the san francisco Giants, at&t Park, is probably
the major league park that takes the most advantage of its
proximity to water. Perched on the edge of san francisco Bay, the
park is a beautiful place to see a ballgame. it is also arguably the
finest place for boaters to cruise to a game. south Beach Harbor
is within walking distance to at&t Park. But perhaps the most
enjoyable way to experience Giants baseball is from the friendly
confines of mccovey cove, named in honor of the Giants slugger.
you can pull your boat into the cove and wait for the splash of
home runs as they hit the water, while you watch all the action
from the replay screen and scoreboards.
