Florida is all about the water

and the water gene, a special node on a person's Dna that makes
them susceptible to salt air, rolling waves and the spray of the
sea. the boating scene in florida is so enormous, there is room for
all kinds of watercraft, from pontoons to motor yachts to fishing
boats and everything in between.

With two boats on lifts in their back yard, a Boston Whaler

370 outrage and 200 Dauntless with a t-top and activity tower,
and all the water toys and gear to play all day, matt and renee
chambers seem to have been born with the water gene.

the chambers live in st. Petersburg, florida, a peninsula sur-

rounded by water. Both are very committed to their demanding
professional careers, and "work hard, play hard" is their motto. so
matt and renee seek relaxation enjoying the versatility of flori-
da's waters where they can be found spearfishing, offshore sport
fishing, scuba diving, free diving, flats fishing, wakeboarding, pad-
dle boarding just about anything you can do on the water.

spearfishing is a fascinating hybrid of fishing and game hunt-

ing, with an emphasis on good sportsmanlike behavior, safe hunt-
ing practices, and preserving the natural environment of water-
ways and reefs. it is also a great deal of fun, taking the excitement
of fishing to a whole other level--right beneath the waves.

matt added an upper tower to his 370 outrage as a watch

tower for spearfishing. it gives a spotter a perch to keep tabs on
those in the water by tracking their bubbles. He now also finds it
an excellent place for fish spotting and an exhilarating location to
operate when running hard. "the dive platform is also excellent
for boarding through the side tuna door with all of your dive gear
on, and the tank racks in the forward garage storage are ideal.
there's a smooth, dry ride, similar to that of a sportfish, the com-
fort of a cabin, and a helm that can be enclosed with heat and air
conditioning."

in florida there's a saying that if you don't like the weather,

wait an hour. storms and sunshine can pop up in dizzying rotation.
it can be sunny on one side of the street and raining on the other.
With the well-equipped 370, boaters like matt and renee can be
ready for anything the florida skies can throw at them.

"We recently planned to fish offshore, but when the weekend

came, the weather was cold and threatening rain. as we headed
offshore, it started getting rough and the rain started to come
down. We quickly erected the helm canvas, turned on the gen-
erator and heat, and continued on our way," said matt. "When
we arrived at our destination, we were able to successfully fill the
boat with fish, and when we felt chilled, we could dive into the
helm enclosure to get warmed up."

florida boasts vacation-style living, with an abundance of

dockside restaurants, well-equipped marinas and elegant resorts.
socializing is easy and fun, on shore or on board.

the chambers like to use both of their Whalers for socializing

and entertainment, tying up at everything from water-side restau-
rants to fun resorts to distant destinations. they have overnighted
onboard the 370 outrage on several occasions, but most often
stay at marina hotel or rental property.

matt and renee are dedicated to being successful profession-

als, and equally dedicated to having fun adventures on the water,
