![]() captiva island. blast. the boats began arriving throughout the day on friday with captain and crew members in great spirits sharing the adventures of their respective challenges. many took advantage of the demo rides on the all-new Boston Whaler 230 Vantage, 270 Vantage, the innovative 345 conquest and 350 outrage as well as the 370 outrage that were provided by Boston Whaler and marinemax. with wonderfully prepared food. a tiered table with a variety of cheeses, well-seasoned bruschetta and dips to start out. then an elaborate taco making station with everything to make yours the way you prefer and carving station with a wonderfully prepared turkey. there was more than enough assortment and excellent appetizers to satiate the pickiest gourmand. the crowd detailing the agenda for the following day's activities, which included an option to take part in a fun fishing tournament or a guided scenic cruise to a sandbar island for food, fun and games. People continued to mingle into the evening while two 70-inch tVs mounted on the towers of the 370 outrage and 345 conquest played Boston Whaler videos. as the armada began its passage. marinemax captain, tom Healy, led the group passing by several rustic fishing lodges, beautiful homes and the quaint lighthouse at the inlet of Boca Grande. the cruise destination was a protected sand spit and the Boston Whaler team had set up a grand beach party complete with music, games, food and drinks. Whaler crew challenged the marinemax staff in attendance to a tug of war. the teams were divided into equal numbers per-side. the struggle lasted several minutes with lots of groaning and moaning. in the end, marinemax eked out a victory. young, did their best to create the largest splash there were even some father daughter attempts. some impressive wipeouts were mixed with several good tries. in the end it was perfect form that won the suspenseful competition. certainly should be an annual affair.
