The Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association recently
held its annual meeting in Ocean City at the Dunes Manor Hotel. The Coastal
Connection show on WAMU 88.3 FM and host Bryan Russo won six awards,
including the Edward R. Murrow Award for Audio Feature Reporting for a
story called "Homeless in Hobo Woods." Russo was also honored as Best
Reporter in the Small Market category. Russo is pictured above with Coastal
Connection Managing Producer Tara Boyle and the numerous awards.

and thanks for her 30 years of service to retiring Ocean City Library Manager
Andrea Schlottman at a farewell event last week.
LJT & Associates Inc. raised $13,000 to support their corporate donor ad-
vised fund held at the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. Proceeds
from the annual LJT-Wallops Island Charity Golf Tournament have benefited
a myriad of non-profit organizations in the region, including Assateague
Coastal Trust, the Salisbury Zoo, Coastal Hospice and Life Crisis Center. Pic-

Dr. Ray Hoy, left, president of Wor-Wic Community College, is shown with
employees who recently retired from Wor-Wic. They are Dr. Scott D. Dahl-
berg, department head and professor of hotel-motel-restaurant management,
who was named professor emeritus by the board of trustees for his contribu-
tions to the college over his 27 years of service; Joseph Ellingsworth, mail
clerk, who has been with Wor-Wic for 12 years; and Holly Hearne, assistant
professor of developmental English, who has been teaching at the college
full time for 15 years and part time for 11 years.
The Delmarva Education Foundation celebrated the opening of its new of-
fice in the Tri-County Council Building in Salisbury with a May 21 ribbon cut-
ting hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. Executive Director
Rota Knott, center, cut the ribbon with help from Chamber President Brad
Gillis and DEF board members Bill Wyatt, Vernon Rivers, Kat Harting, DEF
President Mike Pennington and DEF consultant Michael Nugent. Numerous
other elected and appointed officials were in attendance.
