Something for everyone
The freedom and spirit of the American
West beckon in the many recreation and
leisure activities available in Brawley and
the surrounding Imperial Valley. Blesses
with skies that are sunny and blue almost
every day of the year, mild temperatures
and low humidity, the area has something
to o er almost every preference, from the
adventurous to those who just want to
relax.
In Brawley there are several attractive parks
highlighted by the Cattle Call Arena, whose
145 acres is open daily to walkers, joggers,
and picnickers. The facility, a true gem of
Americana, includes public horse stables
and its 5700-seat arena is home to annual
Cattle Call Rodeo in November and many
other local rodeo and horsemanship
events.
Near Brawley is Wiest Lake, a popular
waterskiing, personal watercraft, and
shing locale with ramadas, grills, picnic
tables, restrooms with showers, and a
recreation hall. Also in the area are the
Imperial Wildlife Area/Wister Unit, Finney,
and Ramer lakes.
The City and Chamber of Commerce also
provide a variety of entertainment events
each year in conjunction with local
organizations such as the North County
Coalition for Arts and the Brawley Cattle
Call Rodeo Committee. Feel free to stop by

Recreation
Golf Courses
Del Rio Country Club at 102 East Del Rio
Road is an 18-hole golf course open to the
public and owned by its members that
provides a friendly and beautiful experi-
ence for all. With a banquet hall and
friendly sta , many events such as
weddings, meetings, dances, and confer-
ences may be reserved for use. For more

Tennis Courts
Brawley has 10 tennis courts, four
city-owned and six school-operated, all
open to the public.
Swimming
The City has one Olympic-sized pool, open
daily April through October.
Parks
Three mini-parks, six neighborhood parks
and three community parks are well
maintained and o er amenities such as
barbeque areas, tennis courts, horseshoe
pits, play sets, picnic benches, and
beautiful shaded trees. Brawley even o ers
a skate park.
Sand Dunes
Located 30 miles east of Brawley on State
Highway 78, the Sand Dunes provide
outstanding opportunities for recreation.
O -road vehicles activity is permitted
on more than 118,000 acres with the
option to camp.
Public Facilities
Palmer Auditorium
Arts Center
Concerts and theater productions are
staged in this facility on the campus of
Brawley Union High School. The facility is
currently closed for renovation due to
earthquake damage.
Cattle Call Arena
& Rotary Park
An outdoor arena that seats 5,700 people is
home to the annual Brawley Cattle Call
PRCA Rodeo. The arena is also used for team
penning, calf roping, and gymkhana events.
The arena is surrounded by newly paved
road making it the perfect area to run, jog,
walk, and bicycle.
Lions Convention Center and Soroptimist
Park Located at 225 "A" Street, it can hold
1,200 people in its 20,000 square foot center
including a kitchen. The Lions Center may
be used for conferences, banquets, and
dances. The center o ers physical tness
opportunities for students and the commu-
nity with a full-sized gymnasium and
showering facility next to the pool.
Senior Citizens Center
The Senior Center has seating capacity for
210 people and may be used for seminars. It
is located at 575 "J" Street. This center o ers
a nutritional program and a physical tness
program called "Zumba Gold."
Brawley Teen Center
Located at 220 Magnolia Street and is Open
to ages 13-19; Monday - Friday: 5:00 pm to
9:00 pm
Warner Football Field
With a seating capacity of 4,000, located at
2nd and "A" Street, Brawley Union High
School proudly provides a eld for
competitive football games. All are
welcome to come and support the local
team!
ED Wiest Baseball Field, Beechey Field, & Ed
Soto
Soccer Field
Located at 3rd and "A" Street, the stadium
o ers seating for 3,000 people to experi-
ence the excitement of Varsity, little league,
and tee-ball. Adjacent to the baseball
diamonds is a lush green eld used for
soccer games; other soccer parks are the
lighted Guadalupe Park at 11th and Malan
and the Del Rio Community Center located
at 1501 "I" Street. Also among the baseball
elds in Brawley are the lighted Abe
Gonzalez Park on 1st and "E" Street, The
Volunteer Park at 1st and River, the
Hinojosa Park which even includes
basketball courts at 9th and "H" Street, and
the Meserue Park which includes tennis
courts and a handball wall on 2nd and "K"
Street with plenty of room to play soccer.
Blake Davis Skate Park
18,000 square-feet of smoothly paved
concrete o ers a tranny/bowl combo. It
includes a spine, a roll in channel, and all
metal coping; which is set in pretty well on
the lip, and not to high up on the at.
Plenty of forever lines with a lot of round
carvable corners. This area is ve feet deep.
And the park has a load of at bank, ledges,
grind rails, and eight stairs with a hand rail.
Included around the street area and the
rest of the park, there are small stair
sections, and smaller steps and ledges for
more beginner types.
