Brawley Municipal Airport serves Brawley
and the Imperial County and is owned by the City
of Brawley. The paved runway extends 4,447 feet.
The elevation of the airport is 129 feet below sea
level. The sun shines almost 365 days a year
allowing for year- round operations and makes the
airport one of the most reliable air elds in the
nation. Located on the northeastern corner of the
city, the airport provides convenient access for the
recreation and the business traveler. Improvement
to HWY 111 will provide accessibility to the NAFTA
corridor which is the most important transporta-
tion highway in the Southwest. The airport has
been approved for a federal grant of $3.67 million
toward its project of asphalt and drainage
improvement by the hangar area.
A few of the services provided by the
Brawley Municipal Airport are fueling, hangar
space, tie-downs, and aircraft maintenance. The
Airport o ers an enticing promotion with the
rental of a hangar space; the rst month's rent is
free.
A vital role in the growth of the region's
economic base is played by the Brawley Municipal
Airport. Many local businesses use this facility as
their airport of choice for business travel and have
located their main o ces in the Brawley industrial
park for that reason. The City of Brawley currently
has adequate acreage on airport property for
aviation uses. Speci c sites can be made available
for corporate hangars, commercial, and industrial
