Greenbriar Connector
l ook w h a t ’ s n e w !
The Greenbriar Connector is a 0.4 mile paved, shared-use trail located in the southwest corner of Columbia, near the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Greenbriar links about 1,500 homes in the Green Meadows area to Columbia’s trail system, the University of Missouri and downtown, by connecting to the MU Recreation Trail and the MKT Trail. Greenbriar Connector leads from Greenbriar Drive through a beautiful natural wooded area, with a tree canopy providing shade for bicyclists and walkers. Commuters utilizing the South Providence Trail can now connect to the MU Recreation Trail by traveling west on Green Meadows to Green Meadows Circle to Greenbriar Drive, and then accessing the Greenbriar Connector at the end of the cul-de-sac. This project represents a terrific partnership of municipal, state and federal organizations: the City’s Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments, the University of Missouri, the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program. Construction of the trail was funded through the Federal Highway Administration’s Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program. The Greenbriar Connector expands the network of Columbia’s walking and biking opportunities, increasing the choices for both safe and fun travel options.
