Today in our modern society,
young girls find it hard to be
confident within themselves or
love the way they are. Between
celebrities, media, fashion and
peers, it is no wonder girls are
struggling more and more to be
happy with the person they are.
There is a set expectation today
that makes young girls feel that
they have to look a certain way.
Is this right? I don't think so. Not
every girl is going to look like a
Victoria Secret
model and not
every girl is
going to be a
size zero! No
person is the
same but yet
why is there
an "It" image
for how a
girl should
look. If that's
the case, should all boys look like
Hollister Models? No, I didn't think
so!
Websites such as Ask.fm and
Omegle are leading to higher
rates of suicide in young girls,
with bullying and the slating of
girls' looks and appearances from
anonymous people becoming an
everyday occurrence! It eventually
comes to a point where young girls
are unable to escape the negative
comments because of the huge
advances in technology; people
have no escape from the internet or
communication with others. Those
websites should be taken down as
they only cause one thing, and that
is pain!
Young girls have their whole lives
ahead of them, to make a career
for themselves, to fall in love, to
have a broken heart, to marry and
to start a family, but with more and
more young girls doubting their
looks it is no wonder the rates of
suicide in young girls has risen
enormously over the last 4 years.
Even some celebrities make young
girls feel unhappy with their looks
when celebrities starting tweeting
or instagramming photos of
themselves with captions such as
"Diet starts tomorrow" or "Not thin
enough!". Could you really blame a
young girl for doubting themselves
with that negativity hovering in the
air?
Girls are the driving force of
everything in this whole world, as
the saying goes "Behind every man,
there is an even better woman",
and I couldn't agree more! It is
time for all girls, of old and young
to stop doubting themselves and
to be happy with the person they
are, nobody is perfect, everyone
has flaws. Embrace your flaws and
worries; turn something negative
into something positive, it is up to
us!
There are a few easy steps to make
embracing your flaws a lot easier.
STEP 1
FORGeT The paST
Don't dwell on old photos of what
you may have looked like, so you
might have been a few inches
skinnier or your hair might have
been longer! You're not that person
anymore, so don't cling onto
something that you miss, accept
the you that you are now. You
would not be the person you are
now if you were never the old you.
STEP 2

Make sure to stay clear of other
girls full of negative vibes. There are
some people out there whose main
focus in life is to make other people
insecure and vulnerable, what
is the point of that? If someone
