BERLIN On Sunday, June 2,
at 3 p.m., the Pine Tones Chorus
will present its Spring Concert at
the Community Church of Ocean
Pines.
Tickets are $8, available in
advance from members of the
chorus, or payable at the door.
Preferred seating is offered to
people who purchase their tickets
in advance.
The concert theme is "We've
Got Your Number." Selections will
include One from the show Chor-
us Line, Forty-second Street, and
Seventy-six Trombones. From Bill
Haley, there's Rock Around the
Clock, and from Nat King Cole,
Get Your Kicks on Route Sixty-six.
Recently the group Manhattan
Transfer has also performed
Route Sixty-six.
Selections in the style of choral,
spiritual music will include Halle-
lujah by Lewandowski and Chil-
dren Go Where I Send Thee, both
as sung by the Mormon Taber-
nacle Choir.
June Todd is the Pine Tones di-
rector and Sandra Coston-Barkley
is the group's accompanist. Guest
musicians will also accompany the
chorus with Tom Baione playing
string bass, Anne Kramer playing
clarinet and Ted Nichols on drums.
When asked about her favorite
song, Todd said, "Its hard to
choose because I love all our
songs. There is one unusual
piece, a duet composed by Ros-
sini titled Duetto Buffo di Due Gat-
ti. I promise that everyone will be
surprised by this one."
The Pine Tones Chorus in-
cludes 60 members from Ocean
Pines, Ocean City and nearby ar-
eas. The chorus has been enter-
taining local audiences in the
Ocean Pines and Ocean City ar-
eas since 1984.
Funding for Pine Tones Chorus
activities comes from ticket sales
as well as the Worcester County
Arts Council, Maryland State Arts
Council and the National Endow-
ment for the Arts.
