GIS Next Generation 9-1-1 GIS: Getting Started With the advent of NG9-1-1 call routing and location technologies dependent on local GIS data, even more responsibility for timely and accurate spatial data will fall upon local governments. This interactive session and case study examines the processes and local accountability that will be required in the future and participants will discuss developing methodologies and processes for reporting and improving the accuracy of the GIS data, street centerline, and MSAG synchronicity. This session discusses key factors to consider when preparing for times when systems are compromised or over-taxed, and emergency communications imperiled.
