Quincy Davis, featured on
our summer
cover, has quickly
established herself as one of
the
rising stars of the junior surfing
ranks, qualifying for fi nals and winning
events around the world. Quincy was
born and raised in Montauk so she
grew up going to the beach. She started
surfing when she was about 7 years
old and began competing when she
was 11. These days she splits her time
between Montauk in the summer and
Rincon, Puerto Rico in the winter, and
travels the world competing in hopes
of one day qualifying for the Women's
ASP World Tour. Quincy was named
to the 2012-2013 PacSun surfi ng team
by Surfi ng America and was recently
featured in Surfing Magazine. But
Quincy has strong Montauk roots.
On Montauk asked Quincy what she loves
about her home town. "I love calling
Montauk my home; it's such a special
lit tle tow n where ever yone knows
everyone. One of my favorite seasons is
springtime, the flowers are blooming
again and everyone is in a happy mood
b e c a u s e s u m m e r i s a p p r o a c h i n g .
Summertime is just beautiful; warm,
sunny long beach days surfing and
nighttime bonfires with all my friends.
Couldn't be more perfect."
